My happy little girl! I'm training her early to play sports with me - check out the lacrosse t-shirt from my team! (Victoria Women's Field Lacrosse)
Teagan took a step last night! Just a single step, but she did it twice last night, and once again this morning. She's still quite unsteady on her feet, and chooses to drop and crawl to travel if there is nothing to hold onto, but it's pretty exciting to see her take a step. Walking is getting closer and closer!
Sleep's been better, fairly consistantly she's asleep between the hours of 8:30 and 6am. We're early risers, Magnus is up at 7 for work, so that's fine for me. She's not napping much, though. 20 minute naps, twice a day seems to be the norm, with a longer one every couple of days. I apparently wasn't a big sleeper as a child, and pretty much gave up naps at this age. I can live with short naps, if she's happy with them, so long as she keeps sleeping through the night!
3 nights of sleep in a row - joy! She's slept through until about 6:30 three nights in a row now. Last night we were even up a bit late, since we were at Magnus' parents' place, and she idn't have a problem. I think the routine and warmer night dressing is helping her sleep. I should feel so rested, but I'm still kind of tired, maybe I've just got a large sleep debt to make up.
Thanksgiving was nice, we had lunch at my mom's and dinner at Magnus' parents'. Teagan got to eat 'real food' at both places. (as opposed to mushed up 'baby food') She seemed to like it all - mashed potatos, squash, yams, brussel sprout, peas, carrot and cauliflower. Oh and a taste of cranberries. She unfortunately got milk in the mashed potatos, Mom didn't realise I was feeding them to her and I didn't realise she put milk in them. I'm a little miffed, but she seems fine. She sure loves eating adult foods and sharing what we're eating!
She slept! All night! We put her down around 9:30, while guests were still here playing board games, and she didn't wake until almost 6:30. If only I'd gotten to bed earlier I'd be well rested. As it is, I'm feeling okay.
We have been dressing her warmer, and working on a routine of bath, nurse, then bed, hopefully it's starting to work.
I haven't been updating, Teagan just keeps me so busy! Plus I'm trying to pack our apartment for the move at the end of the month.
She really wants to stand and walk. We've seen her stand a few times, for a few seconds, totally unaided. It's looking like we may have a toddler by Halloween if this keeps up! I can't believe she will be eight months old tomorrow. Where has the time gone?
